Eretz Israel/Yishuv undocumented military organization emblem pin, c. 1920s-30s; 1.25g: Star of David w/"Zion" in Bezalel style writing surmounted on crossed swords - reminiscent of WWI German veterans' medals. Probably belongs to either the "Association of Jewish Officers in Eretz Israel" (אגודת הקצינים העבריים), founded in TLV in 1935, or "Union of Jewish Combatants" (התאחדות לוחמי החזית העברים בארץ–ישראל) whose emblems used a similar motif. Other possible organizations are "Association of Veterans of the Jewish Battalions in E.I." (איגוד החיילים המשוחררים מהגדודים העבריים בארץ–ישראל) and the "E.I. Association of Jewish War Particiants" (האיגוד הארץ–ישראלי של משתתפי המלחמה היהודים).

Jewish Brigade Zionist flag shoulder patch - original, 1944-1946; 5.3 x 5.2mm. Although the Brigade numbered some 5000 men from Palestine, most were not issued the Brigade's emblem of the Zionist (soon to be Israeli) flag and the "Jewish Brigade Group" shoulder flash patch. Photographs show soldiers wearing both sets of emblems on both of their sleeves, while others wore only one of the two patches on one of their sleeves. Rare to find an original piece, and frequently forged.

Palestine/Yishuv: first version light-green emblem pin of the Tel Aviv 'Mishmar Ezrachi' ('Civil Guard') circa. 1938-early 1940s; not maker-marked; 2.1g. The design is a stylized combination of the Municipality's emblem (of a lighthouse on a shield) and a Star of David: above is the name "Tel Aviv" and below the initials "ME". A civilian volunteer force established by the TLV municipality, this pin was worn on civilian clothes or on a hat; initially employed in keeping order at public places; in WWII, in civil air-defence. During the War it was re-assigned to authority of the 'Haganah' Jewish self-defence militia, and its emblem changed.

Palestine/Israel: second version blue colored emblem pin of the [Tel Aviv] 'Mishmar Ezrachi' ('Civil Guard') circa. mid-late 1940s; not maker-marked; 3g. The second design removed all reference to TLV, which established this force, and would date to period where it was subordinated to the 'Haganah'. During this time, the Guard was tasked mostly with civil air-defence work. Being un-uniformed, this badge was worn on civilian clothes or on a hat. As shown in the accompanying photo, this was the design of the emblem when the Guard was involved in protecting the Tel Aviv Museum on the day of the Declaration of Independence.
