(Happy Bastille Day! - for those who notice, and Happy Theodore Herzl Day [11 July] for others who may notice)
If the home site (
historama.com) looks "quiet" of late that's only because behind the scenes I've been busy receiving in a huge collection of high-grade (museum quality) materials: rare Judaic and anti-Semitic medals, Arabian civilian and military medals, IDF military commemorative medals, Israeli coins and many old Eretz Israel pins and emblems. The list grows weekly, adding to the workload (which presently stands at around 1,500 items). This is part of an overall decision of mine to develop Historama further and turn it into a fulltime business/hobby site with a broader selection of materials.
All that also requires additional website pages to be added - and herein lies the catch: if I update the homepage with this kind of message, I'll be uploading a page with new links to pages which are not yet ready... so I'm posting my update/s here for now. I've also revamped some of the pages to look nicer and easier to navigate, so there are some benefits of all that work.
The new materials should start appearing within the next 3-4 weeks (with a short stint in the reserves somewhere there in the middle).
e-mail problems: I'm aware that the mailbox was full and that your mails to me were bouncing back without being delivered to me (as of 7 July)
but I have now fixed the problem (15 July) - a simple tweak - and your mails will reach me fine. My apologies in advance for the inconvenience caused.
entering the "modern" age: apropos email problems I broke down and got a "smart phone" (which enables you to check email / surf the net away from your computer), so I can reply to your correspondences in a much more timely manner

- that's great as long as I have access wireless internet. No "wifi" and the chunky phone is as useful as a doorstop.
I also joined the land-rush and grabbed myself places at "MySpace", "Twitter" and "Facebook" (for anyone who might care). I don't yet know what good these might be for (particularly "twitter" - what's the point?), but for those with an interest I'll be posting comments, photos and music at the addresses below (MySpace seems to be the best one of the lot):
